About This Project

Thanks for your interest

Get access to the same information that electoral strategists use to make key campaign decisions. On Line Opinion, Australia's e-journal of social and political debate, in association with Springboard Australia and John Wanna of the Australian National University, is turning traditional election coverage on its head by covering the campaign from the inside out. This is experimental journalism and real eDemocracy. We're asking you to be part of it.

We will be producing a poll to track voting intentions and issues in a structured way. This is an opt-in poll. During the course of the campaign we will also conduct online focus groups to probe election issues more deeply. The participants will be selected only from those who opt in. The focus groups will test issues in the same ways that political parties do during a campaign, with a difference - the research will be publicly available, giving the politicians nowhere to hide.

Forum transcripts will be opened on the site where you can discuss the research.

If you would prefer not to answer any of the polling questions or are not an Australian voter but would like to receive information about the results, send us your e-mail address here.

We respect your right to privacy and wish to emphasise that none of the information you provide will be disclosed to any third party for any reason.
