About Eltham

Eltham is a north eastern outer metropolitan and semi-rural electorate extending over an area of 40 square kilometres. It includes Briar Hill, Eltham North, Lower Plenty, Montmorency and parts of Diamond Creek, Eltham, Greensborough, Kangaroo Ground, Research, St Helena and Watsons Creek.

Seat Background

Eltham was created in 1992 and was held by the Liberal Party until 2002 when Steve Herbert won it for the ALP with a 54.7% two party preferred vote.
