Victoria Election 2006 : Home

Victorian Election

This election we'll be using our traditional focus groups to follow the Victorian election. This is the fifth year we've been using this innovative method, but it's still a unique way to do political coverage. We don't understand this because the results speak for themselves - we've yet to call an election wrongly.

Candidate Central

Want candidate or seat information quickly? Our Seats and Candidates pages contain links to the most up-to-date and authoritative information supplied by the Electoral Commission and the politicians themselves

Voter Cam

Most media cover elections by asking politicians and "experts" what is happening. Our expert analysts don't. They ask the people that actually matter - voters. Yes, that's you. Join our online panel and make your voice heard by clicking here.

Check back to this page for update analysis of polls, focus groups and what the politicians are saying. All of our analysis is being carried on our blog Ambit Gambit.

Focus Group

We held our first focus group on Wednesday, 22nd November. You can read the transcript by clicking here. Bracks appears to be heading for a win, on the basis of this group combined with the results of our questionnaire, but Ted Baillieu will do well, and the Greens will probably pick up some lower house seats as well as ones in the Upper House.
