JOHNSON, Pete - GRN
* ROGERS, Terry - LP
VAN LITSENBURG, Elisabeth - ALP WINNER
Redcliffe was created in 1959. Successive redistributions have seen its western boundary move backwards and forwards. However, it still covers the urban communities of the Redcliffe Peninsula from Clontarf in the south to Scarborough North.
Redcliffe has been held for the ALP by Ray Hollis since 1989 though it was held by the the National (Country) Party or Liberal Party from 1960 to 1989. Parliament's Speaker, Hollis won in 2001 with over two thirds of the party preferred vote.
When Hollis resigned as member in 2005, the subsequent by-election saw the Liberal Party win the seat which they now hold with a 1.3 percent margin.
