Allan Pidgeon

Liberal Party candidate for Indooroopilly

Why I am standing

I think our electorate needs a stronger voice, and I am keen to make a real difference.

I am married to Mary-Anne and have three children at the local State School. Although I have a degree from Queensland University, I have worked as a builder's labourer as well as spending 10-years working as a stockbroker.

We have lived in the Indooroopilly electorate for many years and I am heavily involved in community activities. I am an active member of the school's P&C, and have been involved with the Red Shield Appeal for 20-years.

Important issues in my electorate

  • Fix the traffic problems in the area, especially Walter Taylor Bridge, Oxley & Moggill Roads and Coronation Drive.
  • Better management of population growth and urban development to protect the special qualities of the area.
  • Improve the accountability of government by protecting the independence of the Auditor-General and ending abuse of Freedom of Information laws.
