About Sturt
The South Australian seat of Sturt covers an area of 66 sq km in the east of Adelaide. It extends from Oakden in the north to Leawood Gardens in the south. Main suburbs include Burnside, Campbelltown, Dulwich, Gilles Plains, Glenside, Hillcrest, Kensington, Klemzig, Norwood, Payneham and Tranmere.
Seat Background
Sturt is named after Captain Charles Sturt, a well-known explorer of the 19th century. The seat was proclaimed in 1949 and has been predominantly held by the Liberal Party.

Fairly safe Liberal. Incumbent Christopher Pyne is Minister for Ageing.
