About Robertson
Robertson covers an area of 785 sq km including Gosford, Woy Woy and Terrigal on the New South Wales central coast. Increasingly it is a dormitory area for Sydney.
It has rural as well as service, light manufacturing and boat-building industries.
Seat Background
Robertson is named after Sir John Robertson, former Premier of New South Wales during the years of 1860-1861, 1868-1870, 1875-1877 and 1885-1886. It is currently held for the Liberal Party by Jim Lloyd who won it in 1996. For the 27 years before that it was a Labor seat, held by just two members - Frank Walker and Barry Cohen.
