About Oxley

Sitting south west of Brisbane, Oxley covers an area of 218 sq km. In the north are the suburbs of Seventeen Mile Rocks, Darra and Wacol, Goodna and Collingwood Park, in the east are Oxley and Acacia Ridge and the Logan and Beaudesert local government boundaries form its southern limits. Other significant suburbs include Forest Lake, Durack, Inala, Camira and Springfield.

Following the 2006 redistribution, parts of Algester, Calamvale and western Drewvale are now part of Oxley (from Moreton). Approximately 20,000 electors from central and eastern Ipswich City have been transferred to Blair.

Seat Background

Oxley is named after John Oxley, a renowned explorer and surveyor.

Outer Metropolitan.
