About Lindsay

Lindsay covers an area of 351 sq km centred on Penrith in Sydney's west. It includes suburban centres such as Agnes Banks, Berkshire Park, Cambridge Park, Castlereagh, Claremont Meadows, Cranebrook, Emu Plains, Glenbrook, Glenmore Park, Kingswood, Lapstone, Llandilo, Luddenham, Mulgoa, Orchard Hills, Penrith, Regentville, Wallacia and Werrington.

Economic activities are mostly a mix of rural and service.

Seat Background

Lindsay is named after Norman Lindsay, a reknowned writer and artist of the 20th century. It is currently held by Jackie Kelly who won the seat in 1996 with a large 11.8% swing, evidence of the Howard government's appeal to the mortgage belt.
