About Hasluck

A fairly large electorate, this newly established seat covers an area of 227 sq. km. It is located in the east of Perth, and runs southeast, past the seats of Swan and Tangney. Its most northern suburbs include Caversham and Midland; while it’s southern suburbs reach from Gosnells in the west, to Martin in the east.

Seat Background

The seat was named after Sir Paul Hasluck, the member for the Perth seat of Curtin, and a Minister in the Menzies’ governments and his wife, Dame Alexandra. In 2001, the Labor party represented majorities’ in 24 of Hasluck’s 33 booths.
