About Goldstein

Golds covers an area of 48 sq km from Brighton in the north and to Beaumaris in the south. Port Phillip borders Goldstein in the west. Main suburbs include Beaumaris, Bentleigh, Brighton East, Black Rock, Carnegie, Caulfield South, Cheltenham, Glenhuntly, Hampton, Hampton East, Highett, Ormond and Sandringham.

Seat Background

Goldstein is named after Vida Goldstein, the first woman candidate at any election in the British Empire. Former members include Ian Macphee, a prominent Liberal who lost pre-selection to Kemp in 1989.
