About Fadden
Fadden covers the northern suburban sprawl of the Gold Coast City Council as it stretches along the coast and up the Pacific Motorway toward Brisbane's southern suburbs. It covers an area of approximately 636 sq km from Alberton and the Redland Shire-Gold Coast City boundary in the north, Cedar Creek and Clagiraba in the west to Nerang and Molendinar in the south. Main suburbs include Coombabah, Coomera, Helensvale, Hope Island, Labrador, Oxenford, Pacific Pines, Paradise Point, Pimpama and Runaway Bay.
The seat underwent little change in the redistribution. It lost nearly 6,000 electors in its southern most suburb of Southport (to Moncrieff) and picked up a similar amount of electors in its north west around Upper Coomera, Cedar Creek and Kingsholme (from Forde).
The area is mainly residential with some market gardens, sugar cane farming and tourism.
