About Calare
Calare covers an area of approximately 21 621 sq km. Starting at the coal mining town of Lithgow in the Blue Mountains, it includes nearby industrial towns and then stretches west along the Great Western, Mitchell and Mid-Western Highways. Main towns include Bathurst, Orange, Cowra and surrounding rural areas.

Calare is named after the Aboriginal name for the Lachlan River.
