Why I am standing

Pick me pick me pick me?

I am now 42 years old, I have an excellent business history starting my fist endeavour at age 20, which expanded to 3 stores that specialised in Aussie made products and even at this young age I employed those in need. I enjoyed a turn over of 1.5 million after only 2 years.

I have studied most aspects of the law in particular those to help me fight for civil and social justice, and have had hands on experience in all levels of our judiciary including the court of disputed returns regarding voter’s rights and the dreadful experience of the family court with an excellent history of success.

I have continued to self educate myself via many sources of information from many countries, from the left, centre and extreme right of politics. I have researched our future in regards to infrastructure requirements from nuclear power advances; electrified rail including magna lev and underground services in fact many issues that will empower me to represent my electorate in an honest and educated manor.

I have very strong moral values and will only ever answer to my conscience and the electorate that supports me in my fight for the best long-term interests of my country.

I grew up in modest surroundings to very reputable parents who have contributed to their community via both community services and local government; my mother is the deputy major of Salisbury.

I have adopted Buddhist beliefs and my wife is catholic, and we have for many years raised money for those in need both here and overseas, and are fighters for the environment and animal rights, so far as we are about to open, run and self fund an animal sanctuary for injured and abused native animals.

I am regularly commended on my honesty and integrity and owe my business success to the same, I will continue to educate myself and fight for the rights of all South Australians regardless of the outcome of this election, although success would afford me better resources and more time to address the huge list of problems affecting our society for which I hope to see changed.

So if your choice is between the many inexperienced candidates presently being put forward by some of our minor and major parties that are there in some cases to simply toe the line, and Some one with my experience and fighting spirit, that will continue to improve my abilities in the public arena, for the betterment of all of our children’s future who will you choose?

Choose me please or at least let the public decide!

Important issues in my electorate

Does Democracy exist?

What is democracy and does it still exist? The word democracy is void from most of our founding documents as if our countries foundation had no reliance on it, and as of today the word although regularly used, no longer adheres to its original meaning.

The legal dictionary describes democracy as “ popular control of our policy makers by elections at regular intervals, political freedom and equality, and finishes the majority prevails”. Our constitution protects our right to a DIRECT VOTE and our human rights and equal opportunity act, guarantees the right to a FREE VOTE.

In 2006 in the supreme court of South Australia sitting as the court of disputed returns our Chief Justice made it clear that both the constitution and the human rights acts were no longer enforceable in regards to voters rights. In fact by the end of the case 546/06 all rights including natural justice the Supreme Court act, were over ridden by the government.

So whether we use the words, political freedom, political equality, and a direct or free vote to describe democracy none of these are any longer enforceable, so where does that leave democracy?

If these facts prove that democracy no longer exists, we are therefore no longer a democratic country, so what is it we are?

Our High Court Chief Justice Murray Gleason’s comments summed up the rules of democracy “ if change be necessary it must be made by an informed electorate” yet our only access to information is via our media who in fact are privately owned, therefore free to choose the content of their mediums, so who is responsible to create an informed electorate?

If the constitution or any human or civil rights did exist, and guaranteed us free or direct choice as should be the case, how does full preferential voting fulfil those rights, or in fact is that why they are no longer enforceable, because having to preference those you do not know or in fact oppose could never be described as free or direct.

The reasons for the abandonment of democracy is well said again by our High Court Chief Justice,” those that write the laws have the most to gain from structural biases” i.e. the government write the rules to benefit themselves with out regard to voters rights.

So as we approach another federal election, how can we be ensured that democracy will prevail, we simply cannot, because democracy no longer exists. Even the final words of the legal dictionary “ the majority prevails” are hampered by 2 facts. Firstly the counting system that again is written by the government called the 2 party preferred count (preferred by the 2 parties) does not take into account all the preferences. The second is that the outcome has been the same for many years, i.e.: 46% to 48%, which simply proves that our nation is, divided as to our representation, and in fact our countries direction.

So it is now a proven fact that democracy no longer exists and that in the words of our Chief Justice “ the government are supreme”. The outcome of the up and coming election will continue to repeat the past another split vote with the winner chosen by about 2 to 3% of an ill informed electorate. My question if in fact democracy still rained supreme rather than the government, what would the result be?

I feel so alone as I have fought for many years to restore democracy for my country, and it is so easily achieved. Yet the only ones with the power are the government who have a conflict if interest. The media are the only possibility as a saviour, as they at least have the power to create an informed electorate, or do they too have a conflict of interest?

I nearly succeeded in the courts last year, and will continue to fight for what should but has never been the corner stone of our society. I will leave you with this conundrum “ if you don’t like me and do not want to vote for me, that is exactly why you should!
Because I am the only person fighting for your right not to have to.
