The Australian Greens candidate for Aston

Why I am standing

I am standing because I am concerned about climate change, industrial relations and health.
Our grandchildren will judge us harshly for causing a change to our climate. Despite this we choose to keep polluting the planet because it is inconvenient for the fossil fuel industries. I believe we must adopt the targets for emission reductions that have been set out by science.

Our children will also look at how we gave away our rights to a fair workplace. I have spoken to people who are afraid of losing their jobs due to unfair dismissal laws, or have seen their conditions taken away due to AWA's.

We are told that we live in prosperous times, yet why is the situation in our public hospitals getting worse. We have seen the government throw billions of dollars into supporting the private health system while our public hospitals struggle with every dollar, bulk billing GP's become rare and emergency departments overflow. A new approach is needed to health care.
