Mary Brewerton
Australian Labor Party candidate for Mayo
Why I am standing
Several years ago I sat in anger as the TV showered images of Australian troops illegally entering Iraq. I was challenged by my husband, Ian to put my money where my mouth is.
I never thought that the journey to the ALP party office to join up would lead me to being the candidate for Mayo.
I am not only standing because of the damage done to our international reputation by the Foreign Minister, but because Mayo has been taken for granted for far too long.
Our electorate needs an MP that will listen to its constituents, who will fight for key issues like health, the environment, education and infrastructure.

Important issues in my electorate
There are five very good reasons to vote for Labor in Mayo:
* We will take decisive action on climate change * Labor will implement a national plan to fix our hospitals * We will start an education revolution * I will fight to restore balance and fairness in the workplace * Labor will work to repair our damaged international reputation
