Australian Labor Party candidate for Forrest

Labor Candidate for Forrest

Why I am standing

For too long the Seat of Forrest has been taken for granted by the Liberal Party. We are the fastest growing in the region and we need better roads, health services, education and much more. It is time we had someone who is prepared to fight for the needs of our community and make sure we get our fair share. I am dedicated to ensuring that a Labor Government will offer a fresh future for Forrest.

Important issues in my electorate

Labor has committed $361 million to the Perth Bunbury Highway. Of that $136 million will go towards the Port Access Road and stage 1 of the Outer Ring Road. This was taken off AusLink by the Liberal Government. We believe in the future of the south west and we need to support its' growth.
We have also committed $10 million towards a desalination plant in Collie to secure our water resources.
We have committed ongoing funding of $250,000pa for Small Business Development and $150,000 for local sport.
We need more doctors and nurses as well as better dental support. We need better funding for our schools and hospitals. All of which Labor is committed to doing.

Important policy documents

Infrastructure (roads, rail, ports and telecommunications)
Work Choices has hurt working families and we need a fairer system that protects working families but also ensures businesses can grow. Labor can deliver on this.
We need better health services for all in our community and we need to do more for our older members of the community.
We need to tackle climate change in a realistic fashion, not just rely on vague commitments. We need renewable energy sources and not nuclear power.
