Why I am standing

Hi! My name is Dr Richard Di Natale and I'm the Greens lead Senate candidate for Victoria in the upcoming Federal election. I am determined to reclaim the Senate from its current conservative control, and to restore it as a true house of review.

I am an international public health specialist working in HIV prevention and drug treatment in developing countries. Over the years I have worked as a general practitioner in remote indigenous health communities, rural farming communities and urban community health centres. Through my work I have developed the belief that medical care is only part of the solution to health and wellbeing - the air that people breathe, the water they drink and the level of inequity in society are all just as important.

The Greens are the only party prepared to take the urgent action needed to improve people's health and the health of the planet. As a Senator for Victoria, I will fight the reckless march to nuclear energy, defend workers' rights, and give voice to progressive, just and sustainable ideas and policies.
