The Australian Greens candidate for South Australia

Greens Senate Candidate, SA

Why I am standing

I've spoken to many South Australians during this campaign. What I am hearing, over and over again, is that they are worried about climate change and how it will affect their children's future.

People trust the Greens on climate change. We raised the issue long before anyone else took it seriously. And unlike the old parties, the Greens aren't too close to the coal industry to take the action that is so desperately needed.

Water and the dying River Murray are already big concerns for South Australians. If we don't act now, it will cost us much more in the future - environmentally and economically.

People are telling me they will vote Greens in the Senate to end the conservative control and bring back balance. Unless we end the Coalition's control of the Senate, John Howard will be able to block action on global warming.

The Greens will be a positive and progressive influence on a Rudd Government, ensuring that laws passed are in the best interest of the people.

I hope to be elected as South Australia's very first Greens Senator, so I can be a strong, independent voice for our State in the Senate.

Help create history and vote 1 Greens this Saturday.
