The Australian Greens candidate for Kalgoorlie
I was the former State representative for the Mining and Pastoral Region, I am currently the West Australian Director of the Minerals Policy Institute and Co-convener of Friends of Australian Rock Art.
I have a long history of contributing to regional WA having worked for a major mining corporation, been a Port Hedland Councilor for 7 years, helped establish the first environment group in the Hedland area and chaired the inaugural North West Games. I was later on the board of management of the Northern Goldfields Federal Rangeways Project which studied sustainable land use, pastoralism and the impacts of mining and tourism, and was a member of the Rural Assessment Panel for Land Care in the Pilbara, Gascoyne Murchison and the Kimberley’s.
I have a passion for the largest electorate in the world and have had the privilege of travelling its length and breadth on many occasions. I believe that at both a state and federal level, Kalgoorlie, WA’s and Australia’s most significant economic hub remains devoid of many of the economic benefits it deserves.

In Kalgoorlie, I will take action to:
o Implement a sustainable water management plan for regional WA, keeping Kimberley water for the Kimberlie’s
o Develop a non monoculture and broad scale expansion of the Ord Scheme in consultation with the on ground stakeholders
o Prevent a nuclear waste dump being established in WA and to prevent uranium mining
o Encourage environmentally sustainable development
o Encourage increased investment in general health facilities throughout the region, seek proper redress for the Kimberley herbicide workers
o Support investment in Aboriginal health to close the gap in life expectancy between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians
o Protect WA’s rich Aboriginal culture and heritage
