Why I am standing

I want to see more thinking independents in government, who want to do the right thing no matter what the party positions are. By speaking up Senators can achieve better policies, greater transparency in government in regards to what projects they have funded in both private and not for profit sectors, to whom the funds have gone and what outcomes have been achieved.

Important issues in my electorate

The independence of the Senate in Australia I believe is essential to ensure all voices of the Australian public are heard. Currently the Senate is dominated by the major parties who 'toe the line' with the ideologies and aspirations of their leaders. From time to time members are "allowed" a conscience vote. I dont believe this is a good state of affairs for this country and stifles debate.
