Australian Labor Party candidate for Moreton

Labor Candidate for Moreton

Why I am standing

As part of Kevin Rudd's Labor team, I am committed to standing up for working families and making a positive difference to our local community. This federal election finally gives the people of Brisbane's Southside the opportunity to decide which party has a plan for the Australia they want for the future. This election is about the big issues - a choice between the future and the past.

Important issues in my electorate

As part of Kevin Rudd’s Labor team I am looking forward to the opportunity to provide new leadership and fresh ideas for Southside residents.

Locally I am committed to:

•Fixing Southside traffic chaos by committing $300 million to the Kessels and Mains Road intersection and delivering on local roads and infrastructure;

•Improving child care and health services (including a $7.5 million investment to establish a GP superclinic on Brisbane’s Southside and increasing the childcare rebate from 30% to 50%);

•Restoring balance and fairness at work;

•Acting on climate change;

•Relieving our housing affordability crisis;

•Boosting education to give our kids a better future;

While families in our area might have been forgotten by the Howard Government they are Federal Labor's number one priority. I am 100 per cent committed to our local community and I am looking forward to working with, and listening to, Southside residents.
