About Fraser

This electorate takes in the north of Canberra, as well as the Jervis Bay Commonwealth Territory. It covers 535 square kilometres and the suburbs of Belconnen, Gungahlin, Hall, North Canberra, Majura, Kowen, the South Canberra suburbs of Barton, Kingston, Griffith, Narrabundah and Fyshwick.

It is mostly a residential area with some rural industries. As it includes the Parliamentary triangle it is also Australia's largest supplier of government legislation.

Seat Background

Named after Jim Fraser, a former Labor member for Canberra the seat was created in 1974. It is represented by Bob McMullan.
