Seat Background

First proclaimed in 1948 it is named after Caroline Chisholm, an Australian pioneering social worker. Chisholm has been a marginal seat for the last 20 years. It is held for Labor by Anna Burke who won the seat after previous incumbent, Liberal Health Minister, Michael Wooldridge moved to a safer seat in 1998.
