About Boothby
Boothby, situated in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, covers an area of 109 sq km from Clarence Gardens and Urrbrae in the north to Marino in the south. Its main suburbs include Belair, Blackwood, Brighton, Daw Park, Eden Hills, Marion, Mitcham, Seacliff, St Marys and Panorama.
Seat Background
Boothby is named after William Robinson Boothby, the returning officer for the first election of Members of the House of Representatives in 1901. It is held by Andrew Southcott who succeeded Steele Hall. Hall was a former premier of South Australia and at one stage formed the Liberal Movement - a breakaway from the state Liberal Party.
