About Blaxland
This seat is based on Bankstown,and includes the suburbs of Bass Hill, Birrong, Chester Hill, Chullora, Condell Park, Georges Hall, Greenacre, Landsdowne, Mt. Lewis, Punchbowl, Sefton, Strathfield South, Villawood, Wiley Park and Yagoona.
It has railway workshops and aircraft repairs, transport and storage industries.
Seat Background
It was first proclaimed in 1949 and named after Gregory Blaxland, one of the famed team of Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson who were the first to cross the Blue Mountains. Labor has always held this seat.
