About Barton

This seat is in the southern suburbs of Sydney around Botany Bay from Cooks River in the north to Georges River in the south - a total of 42 sq kms.

Industries include light manufacturing and oyster farming.

Seat Background

First proclaimed in 1922 it is named after Australia's first Prime Minister, Sir Edward Barton. It has changed hands frequently over the course of its 82 years of existence.
