Willy Bach
The Australian Greens candidate for Fadden
Why I am standing
Human rights work has always been a strong interest. Willy spent two years in Uganda as a human rights volunteer, returning early 2004. This experience enhances The Greens approach to aid, foreign policy, refugee policy and defence.
Employment assistance and work with young people are also strong areas of experience. Willy moved into the employment consulting field to work first with apprentices and then with long term unemployed people. He has worked with school students who were leaving to take up employment, traineeships or apprenticeships, in school classrooms and with behaviour management cases and in organising major events.
“This experience has given me insights into the problems of education and young peoples’ issues.”
Willy has also worked part-time for the Queensland government in Skills Recognition. This has given some insight in the field of migrant and refugee resettlement. He has previously done voluntary English teaching of Indochinese refugees.

Important issues in my electorate
Willy is experienced in small business management and as an employer. He has had his own hairdressing businesses, managed a solar and insulation business and later a restaurant. Willy has an understanding of the role of small business in the local economy and the importance of energy conservation.

Important policy documents
Willy’s military experience has led him to take a strong stance opposing war and empathise with those who have suffered from war trauma, including Australian veterans.
